| RUSH - WED 6th NOVEMBER | |

For those of ya that don't know Rush is a monthly mid week event run in Harrow. The Rush crew take over the upstairs room of the Trinity bar and wop up massive projector for some sorted visuals and tuck into a smoke maching to deliver some big rave atmosphere. The room would probably take about 150 people before the fire brigade would have an eppy - so we are talking a nice intimate venue and given its Wednesday night billing its as much a chance to meet up with old mates and have a chat as it is to go mental. Not to say that the younger generation there don't go mental though cause they do - ya nutters :) Greeted by the lovely face of Lady V on the door could the night get any better. Well I'd turned up too late to see Reckless's set which I was a bit pissed about cause I'd wanted to hear him. The place wasn't as busy as usual cause the crew had only had 2 weeks to promte this night having been handed an extra slot by Trinity management who were well pleased with the previous events. Still plenty of familiar faces in the place and a good atmopshere as usual. Apparently lots of these people play on Breakpirates but I ain't heard em there - lol - where is that cable connection boys. Matt Bassline is Matt B from website fame - lets have the site back Matt - was wicked. If your into your D&B then your'll know Frosty & pleasure from One Nation events. The night was expertly hosted by the one like Strict on the mic - wicked as ususal hyping up the crowd proper style complimenting the music and seemingly immune to MC disease sweeping the nation - 'talkalloverthetunesitis'. |

Undoubtably the set of the night was Alien Eye b2b with Moody - actually I'm probably not allowed to say that am I. Some unknown geezer called Gencoide clanged though a few and claims to have done some 2 copy mash up action but that pailed when set against my now legendary live Edge 1 2 copy remixing. OK - back to a proper review. Ones like the Bassline and the Ambush laid down some choice oldskool beats mixed in with a sprinkling of nu skool. Genocide supplied some varying styles - nu skool and drum and bass. Alien Eye dropped his own tune which got just about the biggest reaction of the night - nice 1 - and Frosty and Pleasure creamed the night off with the usual upfront drum and bass action. Gotta be refreshing to hear some decent tunes beaten out by some lesser known DJ's who don't mind taking a few chances. I would suggest you all call the info line night and day - not for info but just to bug the guys - they don't want to sleep :). Seriously these events kick off every month so if your in the area come check em out and say hello. December night sees Luna C hit the Rush. Thanks for having me - c u soon Steve (aka DJ 'cheeky' Moody) |
